Dropbox? Why not?

Hey you people, in this post i'm going to show you how to install and configure Dropbox on your computer. First thing first, what is Dropbox? No, i'm not talking about a box that dropped from somewhere :D.

Dropbox is a file hosting service operated by Dropbox, Inc., headquartered in San Francisco, California, that offers cloud storage, file synchronization, personal cloud, and client software. Dropbox allows users to create a special folder on their computers, which Dropbox then synchronizes so that it appears to be the same folder (with the same contents) regardless of which computer is used to view it. Files placed in this folder are also accessible via the Dropbox website and mobile apps.

Dropbox was founded in 2007 by Drew Houston and Arash Ferdowsi, as a Y Combinator startup company.[6] Dropbox provides client software for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Android, iOS, BlackBerry OS and web browsers, as well as unofficial ports to Symbian, Windows Phone, and MeeGo.

This service is similar to Google Drive by Google or Icloud by Apple.

Okay, first thing you need to do is sign up to get a Dropbox account. Why? Same like Google Drive or Icloud, an e-mail account is required to access a virtual drive on Dropbox's server from your computer.

Go to this link to enter the Dropbox website, then click on "Sign Up". A registration form would show up. And you need to enter your First Name, Last Name, your e-mail, and your password for Dropbox account and don't forget to check on "I agree with Dropbox Term" and click "Create Account", just like this :

After that, if nothing goes wrong, this start-up window would show up. And the next thing to do is download Dropbox application. Just click "Install Dropbox on your computer".

And the download will start in a few seconds, just wait until the download finished and run the application.

After the installation is finished, the login window would show up, and login with your email account + password that you have entered at the first step.

If succeed, there will a baloon pop-up notification on your taskbar that showing Dropbox has succesfully installed and if you click "Open my Dropbox Folder" , it will open a folder on your computer as a virtual drive for your Dropbox.

And that is making your storage grow bigger. Because Dropbox gives you 2GB free space that you can store and view anywhere, as long as those computer have Dropbox Application.

Ok, this is the end of the post. Hope it will help you. Feel free to ask if you have question. Good afternoon.
